Colchester United drew 2-2 with Portsmouth tonight, following an entertaining game at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Colchester went close early on through Andrew Wordsworth's long-range strike that was palmed away by Pompey keeper Mikkel Anderson.
But the U's were behind when Luke Rodgers finished smartly on the half hour, from Liam Walker's pass.
Freddie Sears went close, before Michael Rose equalised on the stroke of half-time with a stunning left-foot strike from more than 30 yards.
Portsmouth started the second half well and U's keeper Mark Cousins denied Izale McLeod, before Liam Walker saw his low strike hit the post seconds later.
Colchester thought they had won the game when Magnus Okuonoghae slotted in from close range from Wordsworth's corner, with six minutes to go.
But Portsmouth had other ideas and substitute Jordan Obita tapped into an empty net barely a minute later after Rodgers' strike struck the post, to give the visitors a point.
