COLCHESTER United midfielder Gene Kennedy has joined Braintree Town on loan.
Kennedy made his debut for the Iron in their National League South win over Dulwich Hamlet, on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old played for 63 minutes of the game at Cressing Road, helping his side claim victory.
Kennedy played against Braintree for Colchester in the BBC Essex Senior Cup quarter-final between the two sides, last Tuesday.
The U's academy product, who has been at Colchester since under-ten level, made his senior bow for the club last season in their 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat at Birmingham City.
Kennedy has made nine senior appearances for the U's in total, six of which have come in the EFL.
