STANWAY Rovers have announced that Jamie Shaw and Anthony White will continue in their coaching roles into the 2024/25 season, writes BEN MCCARTHY.
White was promoted to Rovers' first-team head coach after a spell with the club’s under-23s while Shaw, a former Stanway player, was appointed as manager in October 2023 and has overseen a tremendous turn in form.
Under his stewardship, Rovers had won 26 out of 37 games, in all competitions, and lifted both the Errington Challenge Cup and the Peter Butcher Memorial Trophy.

We’re delighted to announce Jamie will continue through the 24/25 season. Jamie got off to a fantastic start putting together a great squad in little time, finishing the season with two trophies.

In February, the Rovers manager exclusively told the Colchester Gazette that he believed that his side were: one of the strongest sides in the Essex Senior League.
And although they finished in seventh place in the league and missed out on the play-offs, Shaw looks ahead to the new campaign where he aims to improve on last season in terms of league position and win as many games as possible.
He said: “Firstly, I’d like to thank the board at Stanway, for showing belief in me.
"We ended the season really strongly; the boys were in top form, and we’ve proudly ended the campaign with two trophies for the club.

"The task now is to keep this team together and strengthen where we can and push on again.
“Everyone at the club has pulled together to make sure we are constantly improving off the pitch and that high standards are set throughout.
"The club has a really good feel to it at the moment, we celebrate all wins, no matter how big or small and that’s helped us create a really good changing room.
“The first task [last season] was to ensure the club was safe from relegation and build foundations for success going into this season and we’ve done that in a short space of time.
"The plan now is to improve on last season in terms of league position and win as many games as possible.”
Rovers’ vice-chairman Jerry Carter said: “We are delighted that Jamie and Anthony have committed their future to Rovers and we really look forward to the season ahead.
“Jamie has created a balanced and talented squad, and the expectation from our fans is naturally going to be high after such a fantastic finish last season.
“The future is bright as we have a strong youth pathway. Our Under 23s reaching their cup final after finishing high in the Border League Premier Division.
"Next season this team will be Stanway Rovers Reserves and we will also have an under-23s team in the Thurlow Nunn League.
“With 45 youth trams from Stanway Community, the pathway at Stanway Rovers is stronger than ever.”
