ANTHONY Wordsworth scored a late winner as MALDON AND TIPTREE beat neighbours HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS 1-0 to progress to the FA Trophy second qualifying round.

Wordsworth volleyed home the Jammers' all-important goal with only a few minutes remaining at Scraley Road, after Lewis Watson's cross had picked him out.

 

BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT join Maldon and Tiptree in the next round after they won 4-2 at Mildenhall Town.

Harry Mann (2), Jayden Robinson and Marley Andrews were on target against a Mildenhall side who played the final half an hour after Max Kirby was sent off on the hour mark.

WITHAM TOWN bowed out after losing 3-2 at Brentwood Town, their first defeat of the season.

Witham had led 2-1 thanks to goals from Liam Whipps and Josh Osude but succumbed to defeat.

In the Essex Senior League, bottom side FC CLACTON lost 5-0 at home to Benfleet.

 

STANWAY ROVERS drew 2-2 with LITTLE OAKLEY.

Callum Boylan and Harry Thomas were on target for Stanway against an Acorns side who had Reece Keating sent off in the 77th minute.

James Eveleigh scored a dramatic winner in the eighth minute of stoppage time as HALSTEAD TOWN beat Stansted 4-3 to claim their first win of the season.

Nathan Scarborough, Asa Cansdale and Alfie Lambert were also on target, for the Humbugs.

 

In Thurlow Nunn League first division north, league leaders HARWICH AND PARKESTON won 3-1 at FC Peterborough.

Brad James, Joe Knight and Danny Garrad all netted for the Shrimpers.

WIVENHOE TOWN beat Swaffham Town 3-2 at the Taylor Wimpey Stadium.

Gabe Kerr, Taylor Warden and Fin Hughes all netted for a Dragons side who were reduced to ten men in the second half after Oscar Powell was dismissed.

STANWAY PEGASUS beat Holbeach United 3-0, while HOLLAND FC beat Dussindale and Hellesdon Rovers 2-1, with Toby Harms and James Crisell on target.
