MALDON and Tiptree have appointed Brett Munyard as their new first-team manager.

Munyard departed his role as manager of fellow Pitching In Isthmian League division north side Brightlingsea Regent, on Tuesday.

And 24 hours after his exit from North Road was announced, he has been unveiled as the Jammers' new boss.

Munyard takes over at Park Drive from Dave Huzzey, who parted company with Maldon and Tiptree earlier this week.

Maldon and Tiptree said: 'We are delighted to announce Brett Munyard as our new first team manager.

'Both the club and Brett have clear objectives for what we aim to achieve over the next 18 months.

'Brett’s experience will be instrumental in helping us reach our goals. Welcome aboard @brettmunyard'.

Brightlingsea also have a new boss, after appointing Ryan Salter as their new manager.

The former FC Clacton boss will be assisted by Pip Boyland.

Salter is an R's hero, having played 113 times, winning promotion from the Essex and Suffolk Border League, Eastern Counties Division One and Eastern Counties Premier Divisions.

He has also been in the dugout for the R's 139 times as both head coach and assistant manager, achieving an Isthmian North winners medal in 2016/17.

Physio Brian Swift and goalkeeper coach Mark Edwards will continue in their roles but Ricky Stubbs has left Brightlingsea after four seasons, having been an ever present for 147 matches.
