IT proved another fantastic day for Thurlow Nunn League pair STANWAY ROVERS and FC CLACTON.
Stanway continued their excellent form by mauling Mildenhall 4-0.
The Colchester side are up to third in the premier division, thanks to two goals apiece from the prolific Ray Turner and Jordan Palmer.
All the goals came in the last half-hour, during a one-sided second half at The Hawthorns.
Clacton, meanwhile, made it four straight wins after triumphing 3-1 at BRANTHAM ATHLETIC.
Aaron Condon netted twice more, after an early opener from Billy Wales.
Brantham’s consolation came from an unfortunate own goal by Seasiders goalkeeper Aaron Reid.
WIVENHOE TOWN suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to second-placed Norwich United.
Both goals came in the second half.
In division one, HALSTEAD TOWN drew 1-1 at Great Yarmouth.
James Regan netted a penalty but also missed another opportunity to score from the spot.
BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES’ drew 2-2 at Team Bury.
