Harwich and Parkeston made it three games without a goal and a point as their rough trot continued.
A solitary goal was enough to give Wroxham all three points and propel them into the Ridgeons League premier division’s top six.
Harwich, however, will feel disappointed that their contribution to the match didn’t reward in a share of the points, as they commanded possession for long periods but were unable to breakdown an organised and resolute Wroxham defence.
Adam Bloss was the first to add his name to the ‘so close’ list, the ball laid neatly into his path but his 20-yard strike finally came to rest at the Co-op doors.
Matt Carmichael was next, unable to get enough on Reece Harris’ in-swinging corner and Darren Bethell, when faced with replacement keeper, Phil Smith, dragged his shot narrowly over the bar.
Wroxham proved they needed less encouragement to score infront of goal and took their opportunity well when Nathan Munson lost control of the ball near the byline, Cook laid it back for Key to thrash goal-wards and the unfortunate Bloss, in his attempt to clear, aided it into the net.
Key went close to doubling his tally early in the second half, linking well with Taylor, however, Munson this time was his equal, palming the 20-yard volley over the bar.
The match lit up in the final ten minutes as Harwich threw caution to the wind, culminating in bookings for both sides and a clearance off the Wroxham line as Bloss looked to make amends, but the three-year wait to score against the Yachtsman continues.
