Witham Town boss Danny Greaves wants his side to continue their impressive form against Maldon Town on Saturday.
Greaves has made an impressive start to his time at Spa Road and is unbeaten in three games in Ryman League division one north.
A win could see Witham move out of the bottom two - but visitors Maldon have experienced a more testing time of late.
Stuart Nethercott’s side have lost their last two matches without scoring and have conceded six times.
There is sure to be a spicy atmosphere to entertain the spectators but Greaves has insisted he is only interested in securing a valuable three points, as he bids to drag his side clear of danger.
He said: “We are looking forward to it.
“We are on a roll at the moment and we want that to continue.
“We should be confident of beating any team at this moment in time.
“We’re at home and it’s a derby match but it’s a case of us getting the three points.
“I know it’s a big occasion for the club but all I am concerned about is getting the points because we need to move away from the relegation zone.
“We’re desperate to get out of the bottom two.
“We have one or two who are carrying injuries but it should be fine.”
Greaves has been especially pleased with the younger players in his squad who have helped them go their last three league matches unbeaten.
The Witham boss was pleased with the performance of his players in their 1-1 draw at Tilbury last weekend.
And he feels their attitude and desire bodes well for the club’s future.
“They’re standing up and being counted,” he added.
“The passion and the commitment was there, which was particularly pleasing considering that we are a very young side.
“There are a lot of 19 and 20 year-olds in our side and if we can avoid the dreaded drop this season, it bodes well for the future.”
Maldon will be hoping to bounce back from their 5-0 defeat at home to Enfield Town on Saturday.
