HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS manager Mark Hawkes is expecting a tough encounter in tonight’s Essex Senior Cup semi-final.

The Ryman League division one north side will travel to Billericay, who are sitting in fifth place in the division above them, full of confidence.

The side were unbeaten in the league in February and have fared well against Ryman League premier division sides this season.

Hawkes said: “It will be a tough game, they are in a division above us and are doing very well.

“But we have beaten three premier division sides so far.

“I think they will show us respect and it will be a good game.”

Danny Barber is still missing through injury for Swifts and Russell Pond and Michael Toner are both cup-tied.

WITHAM TOWN are due to play at Clapham tonight, in the Essex Senior League.

However, the game is currently in doubt because of a problem with the floodlights, at the Spotted Dog Ground.

Meanwhile, Town have been deducted a point by the Essex Senior League after being found guilty of fielding a suspended player.

Defender Richard Manning played in a game for Town at Bethnal Green, in January.

But Town were unaware that he was banned and have now been deducted a point.

Witham have also been fined £100 by the Essex Senior League and the same amount by the Essex Football Association.

In the Ridgeons League, FC CLACTON travel to play Leiston in the premier division.

And HALSTEAD TOWN are also in action when they play host to Whitton United at Rosemary Lane, in division one.
