Jeffrey Monakana's loan spell at Colchester United has ended after he was recalled by parent club Preston North End.
The winger made six starts and three substitute appearances for the U's, after joining them from the Deepdale club in September.
Monakana, who scored on his Colchester debut at Bradford City, has returned to battle for a place in Simon Grayson's squad.
He could now face the U's when they travel to play Preston in League One, on November 23.
