It will be a busy day at Colchester Rugby Club, with a vital first-team game and three other matches taking place.

And the president of the RFU, Brian Williams, will be there to witness all the action at Mill Road.

Colchester are now into a vital six weeks which could define their season.

They started with an EDF Senior Vase game last week and a convincing win against London League division three north-east Harlow.

They have been rewarded with another home tie against either Bognor, who lie second in London League south-west division three, or Kingston (from south west division four).

Tomorrow sees the crucial league game against old rivals Ipswich and then a break until January.

The new year kicks-off with a trip to Dagenham, who gave them a torrid time in a drawn game in November.

That’s followed by the fifth-round EDF Senior Vase tie, then a home game against Upminster and then a trip to Canvey.

That still leaves two games, which have been postponed and are still be re-arranged – an away trip to Wymondham and the trip to Ipswich for the Suffolk Cup tie.

Colchester pick from just about a full strength squad.

This means there are eight changes from the side who played against Ipswich earlier in the season.

There are slight injury concerns about Jon Vine and Max Cochrane.

Will Morgan and Chris Withers get the centre berths with Toby Shadaverian and Dave Higgins on the bench.

Paul Le Marquand returns to fly-half and James Gee holds on to the shirt.

Up front, Shane Manning claims the tight head berth with the rest of the front five unchanged from last week.

Ken Dowding is back at eight, leaving Dan Whiteman and Jack Hale on the flanks and Ollie White on the bench.
